Registered Veterinary Nurse
£30,000 DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time registered veterinary nurse to join our team in our brand-new purpose-built rabbit, cat and exotics practice in Cardiff.
About the practice
Origin Vets Clinic is an Independent practice with a cat, rabbit and exotic case load.
Origin vet’s clinic is located just east of Cardiff City Centre with excellent links to the M4 and public transport access. There is free onsite parking.
The clinic itself is purpose built and designed with careful consideration for keeping prey/predator species separate. We have a green heart and strive to be mindful of our environmental impact.
Our small team is made up of dedicated staff, with additional qualifications/advanced practitioner status in exotics, anaesthesia and emergency and critical care. We are a supportive and progressive team and actively encourage career development.
About the role.
We are looking for a highly motivated qualified registered veterinary nurse to join our team.
The position will be a mix of nurse consulting, husbandry reviews physical examinations, beak and nail care of mammals, reptiles and birds, anaestheic monitoring of all species, laboratory work, diagnosis support and administrative support.
This is an ideal role for someone looking to develop their skills in cat, rabbit and exotic veterinary nursing and there will be full clinical support from the whole team with plenty of autonomy and clinical freedom.

Laboratory including Abaxis Vetscan biochemistry, microscopy
Separate mammal, reptile, cat and bird wards with isolation facilities
3 x consulting rooms
Digital X-ray
Mobile Ultrasound

Multimodal monitoring equipment

PetsApp Communication system
About the candidate.
The right candidate will be a fully qualified registered veterinary nurse
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- Hold a full driver’s license
- A caring enthusiastic, team player with a passion for welfare minded veterinary care and education
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Be able to complete tasks asked of them
- Be CPD compliant
- Be able to work as sole nurse and within a team
- Have a good sense of humour whilst maintaining professionalism
- Be a good team player and be able to support peers and vet/nurse students
- Previous exotic nursing experience is desirable but not essential
Job specifics:
40 hours over 4-5 days
Starting Salary : £30,000 DOE, prorata
Location: CF239FP
- 28 days holiday (incl Bank holidays) prorata
